British Columbia's Provincial Capital Commission: Its role in shaping the image of Victoria
Abstract
Established in 1956 and given
additional powers in 1979, the
Provincial Capital Commission is
a government agency responsible
for enhancing British Columbia's
capital for the benefit of visitors
and the people of the province. It
is a Crown corporation with fourteen
volunteer board members,
eight of whom are appointed by
order in council, and the remaining
six by the four core municipalities
of the Capital Region.
