Ville-santé à travers l'histoire en Tunisie
Subject
Abstract
The "healthy community" problem in cities like Tunis is no longer a matter of hygiene and the struggle against parasitic or infectious diseases, but is rather to do with improving quality of life. This problem is approachable only in an overall sense. It's in the urban-rural dialectic that a solution must be found, for whatever resources or tools are used to optimize quality of life, no town or city will be able to resist the massive influx of rural populations without land or work. Perhaps it will be necessary to find a means of transferring quality of life from the city to the rural regions without compromising its integrity. For the moment, the most realistic action for Tunisia seems to be the implementation of the local «Agenda 21» model. Working on this basis will be the main challenge in the coming years.
