dc.description.abstractPlanning far the future is fundamental to planning practice. However, conventional long-range planning approaches seem unsuitable in an environment of increasing uncertainty and turbulence. This article explores the techniques, training, organizational implications, and attitudes necessary to conduct effective long-range planning. While public sector planners comprise the primary audience for the article, the observations are generic and applicable to most organizational settings.en
