Audio recording of Lila Smith's March 1995 presentation to the Nanaimo Historical Society in which she reads excerpts from the diary of a Nanaimo woman from the summer of 1913. Smith reads multiple extracts from the diary which touch on everyday life in early 20th century Nanaimo. Family chores including: baking, grocery shopping, laundry, canning, and sewing, are all mentioned, as well as a few more social activities like a picnic in a rented row boat.
