dc.description.abstractThis project utilized an action research engagement approach to inquire about cohesion and engagement in cross-functional teams of front-line staff in one long-term care organization. This inquiry engaged 13 front-line workers (FLWs) in facilitated group sessions and 114 FLWs in surveys to explore the following question: How might Delta View work with cross-functional teams of front-line staff to foster team cohesion and engagement? Key findings showed relationship, recognition, and resources influence cohesion and engagement and facilitate a reciprocal cycle of felt value, stress, and ability to provide quality care. I concluded enhancing felt value associated with team cohesion and engagement improves worker efficacy, and staff, leaders, and strategic human resource management mutually influence the workplace culture of team cohesion and engagement for individuals, teams, and the organization. Recommendations included actions to strengthen relationships, reinforce recognition efforts, and promote ongoing information sharing to facilitate continuing cohesion and engagement efforts.
